for Dorchester Festival as your favourite British event.

Dorchester Festival is no more an ordinary village festival than Dorchester Abbey is an average village church, with 34 events packed into ten days, all based around this breathtaking historic building and this year giving 50% of our profits to support local charity, Helen & Douglas House. See aerialist Matilda Leyser perform ‘Lifeline’ suspended from the ceiling of Dorchester Abbey; play murder detective; explore local myths and legends through performance storytelling; come and sing Vivaldi’s Gloria in the Abbey with its fabulous acoustics; enjoy a romp through the best of Broadway or watch children’s Shakespeare in the Rectory garden. Immerse yourself in a feast of classical music (from the 100 voices of the London Chorus), superb jazz (Acoustic Triangle) or Opera Anywhere; dip into book readings from top authors Colin Dexter, Nick Arnold (a really horrible science show!), Jeremy Strong and others or just choose from a wide variety of workshops, from weaving willow to ballroom dancing. Your children will have great fun in Mad Science workshops, learning the art of slapstick comedy, building fantasy castles, doing ballet with Angelina Ballerina or having fun with stick, stamp and story sessions. There really is something for everyone!
