World Ploughing Contest
This unique event is two in one - the British National Ploughing Championships and World Ploughing Contest - and visitors will be travelling from all over the world to see it.
It’s not just ploughing though! It offers a rare glimpse of how farming has changed over the past 300 years – 40 magnificent heavy horses showing their skills; many styles of vintage tractors and equipment and a display of “A Century of Agriculture”; more than 30 giant steam ploughing engines and related equipment with the theme of “A Celebration of Steam” and displays of the most up-to-date machinery. Trade stands, crafts and shopping make a great family day out.
There are plenty of food outlets, free parking, admission is £10-£12 per adult or £5-£6 per child over 11. Under 11s are free. For more information, telephone 01302 852469 see www.ploughmen.co.uk or find SocietyofPloughmen on Facebook or ploughmen_ltd on Twitter.
