Born 1928 - Scottish composer and pianist.
Studied at Royal Manchester College of Music. Works include a piano concerto, a violin concerto and many songs. Renowned contrapuntist and well known composer of melodies. Wrote Western Music: An Introduction (1971) and many articles.
