Richard Smith

Born 1931 - English painter.
Studied at St Albans School of Art and Royal College of Art. Painted large three dimensional and often kite-shaped canvases, later suspended with ropes and metal rods. Won Scull Prize in 1966 for young non-American artist at the Venice Biennale.
