Died on 8th of February 1975

Born 1886. Died 1975 - English chemist and Nobel Prize winner.

Studied at Victoria University, Manchester. During WWII played important role in development of penicillin. Served on many government committees. Knighted in 1949, awarded Order of Merit in 1949. Received Nobel Prize for chemistry in 1947.
