Studied at Emmanuel College, Cambridge. Co-writer and actor in television series such as Not the Nine O’Clock News and Alas Smith and Jones. Films include Morons from Outer Space (1985) and Wilt (1989). Directed opera at Covent Garden. Founder of production company Talkback.
