Born 1888 - Warsaw, Poland. Died 1982 - British ballet dancer and teacher.

Sent to Paris from Warsaw to study medicine but turned to eurhythmics. Moved to London, began to dance and teach. Opened her own dance studio in 1920 and in 1930 formed the Ballet Club, becoming Ballet Rambert in 1935. Emphasised the promotion of new ballets and the use of modern dance techniques. Made a DBE in 1962.
