Educated at Sandhurst, joined Queen’s Dragoon Guard. Married Princess Anne in 1973, divorced in 1992. Member of British Equestrian Team (1970-76), winning the gold medal at 1972 Munich Olympic Games. Coach of US three day event team for three years.
