BOOK BARKING HOTELS

Billy Bragg
- Favourite Briton.

Born in Barking, Essex
Born on 20th of December 1957
Died in 000

‘The Bard of Barking’ is a unique figure in the British music scene, his very personal style a mix of folk, romantic ballad, protest, and even punk elements. Bragg is as well-known for his left wing political views as his music, though it would be foolish to separate the two. After a brief sojourn in the British Army in 1981 he returned to what had previously been an unsuccessful music career and broke through. His beautiful song A New England was Kirsty McColl’s biggest hit, and has become a modern British standard.
