Started his career in aviation with Short Brothers. Chairman and Managing Director of Laker Airways Ltd (1966-1982). Career suffered on failure of Skytrain project in 1982. Founded Laker Airways Inc in 1995, ran daily transatlantic flight between Gatwick and Miami.
