Margaret Prout
- Favourite Briton.

Born in Chelsea, London
Born on 31st of March 1875
Died on 9th of December 1963

Margaret Fisher Prout, the daughter of an artist, eclipsed her father’s achievements. Her paintings were impressionist in style, her still life oils, generally full of colour, worthy of particular note. She is, however, probably best remembered for her landscapes of the British countryside, Chidenham Creek one of her finest works. Prout studied at the Slade and taught before WWI at the Hammersmith School of Arts and Crafts.

Brit Quote:
I used to look at these pictures of trumpeters pointing their instrument to the ceiling. Stunning pictures, but if you play the trumpet and point it upwards, all the spit comes back into your mouth! - Humphrey Lyttleton
