David Pountney is a renowned theatre and particularly opera director, whose CV includes many productions at the ENO and Scottish Opera, and at houses across the globe including in Zurich, Munich and Bregenz. He has also translated many librettos into English, and is a librettist in his own right, with several collaborations with Sir Peter Maxwell Davies on his resumé.
