Julia McKenzie has been an immediately recognisable face on British TV since at least the 1980s when she made the comedy series Fresh Fields with Anton Rogers, and later its sequel French Fields, her fame added to when she was chosen by ITV to play Miss Marple. Her career is far wider than just television acting, however, taking in many radio appearances and with great success in musicals, especially Sondheim shows, in the West End and on Broadway.
