Born 1905. Died 1975 - English Roman Catholic Archbishop.

Ordained in 1930. Worked with the BBC during WWII becoming well known as the Radio Priest. Became Bishop of Leeds in 1951, Archbishop of Liverpool in 1957 and Archbishop of Westminster in 1963. Created a cardinal in 1965.
