Born 1861. Died 1940 - English neurologist.

Studied natural sciences at Cambridge and clinical medicine at University College Hospital, London. Best known for his neurological research. Wrote extensively on the disorders of speech. Edited the neurological journal Brain (1905-21). Knighted in 1927.
