As a child was a member of Repton Amateur Boxing Club, fought twice for England. Has appeared in numerous television shows including appeared in TV shows including The Sweeney, The Bill, Boon, Fairly Secret Army, Murder Most Horrid, Birds of a Feather, Minder, Kavanagh QC and Auf Wiedersehen, Pet. Frequently cast as a tough or violent man. Appeared in the drama Nil By Mouth, receiving a BAFTA nomination.
