Born 1949 - Conservative politician.

Studied economics at University of Wales, Aberystwyth. Worked as teacher and barrister before becoming an MP in 1983. Successfully sued the BBC for libel in 1986. Involved in the “cash for questions” scandal which led to bankruptcy and leaving politics. Has since become a minor celebrity appearing on a number of television show.
