Born 1911. Died 2003 - English actress.

Discovered in repertory theatre at age of 16. Made her screen debut in Spellbound (1940), over 60 films followed. In 1988 received BAFTA Best Television Actress Award. Presented religious series and published several books. Created DBE in 1993.
