Born 1820. Died 1889 - Shakespearean scholar and antiquary.

Studied at Jesus College, Cambridge. Wrote a number of studies on Shakespeare including The Life of William Shakespeare (1848). Also published Nursery Rhymes and Tales of England (1845) and Dictionary of Archaic and Provincial Words (1847).
