Made her first stage appearance at the age of two. Studied at RADA before appearing on stage in Diamond Lil (1948) and Brigadoon (1949-51). Studied television techniques becoming an advisor to Associated Television. Well known as the owner of the motel in the soap opera Crossroads (1964-81) before returning to the stage.
