Sir John Herschel

Born on 7th of March 1792
Died on 11th of May 1871

Born 1792. Died 1871 - English astronomer.


Only child of William Herschel. Educated at St Johnís College, Cambridge. Won Copley Prize for mathematical research. Listed nebulae, clusters and double stars in northern and southern skies. Interested in chemistry. Pioneer photographer. Made baronet at coronation of Queen Victoria.
