Had success with West End production of Another Country (1982) followed by a film version in 1984. Appeared in Dance With A Stranger (1985), The Comfort of Strangers (1990) and My Best Friend’s Wedding (1997). Has written a number of novels including The Hairdresser of St Tropez. More recently appeared in the films Shrek 2 (2004) and Shrek 3 (2007).
