Born 1510. Died 1573 - English physician and scholar.

Studied at Gonville Hall, Cambridge and medicine at Padua. Physician to Edward VI, Mary I and Elizabeth I. Refounded and enlarged Gonville Hall. Wrote critical, antiquarian and scientific books.
