Born 1939 - English actress


After studying at RADA in London she worked in repertory theatre and pantomime before making her film debut in Tunes of Glory (1960). Many films followed including Tom Jones (1963), A Man for all Seasons (1968), The Killing of Sister George (1968), They Shoot Horses, Don’t They ? (1969) and Just Ask for Diamond (1988). She also played the hero’s mother in the Superman films of the 1980s.
