Born 1839. Died 1919 - Scottish physicist.


A Scottish Physicist and meteorologist who through experimentation discovered the crucial role that microscopic particles play in the condensation of atmospheric water vapour in clouds and fogs. Now known as Aitken nuclei. He received a Royal Medal in 1917, and much of his work was published in the journals of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
