Shere is a small pretty village on the River Tillingbourne, set beneath the Downs in the County Of Surrey, yet only 25 miles from London. The Village has a fine collection of old and historic buildings that beckon to artists and photographers, the old Norman church of St James dates back to the 12th Century and makes for an interesting interlude. The Shere Museum tells an interesting story through documents, and photographs of times past, or close by is the magnificent 18th Century mansion of Hatchlands Park, set within stunning landscaped grounds, the evocative interior designed by Robert Adam shows the grace of an era long past. The worlds largest collection of historic keyboards are here, time it right and join one of the Concerts where keyboards are played that once belonged to Beethoven, Mozart and Elgar, or there is always the magical sight of woodland carpeted with bluebells to enjoy…..
