| Events in Galmpton
Galmpton is a pretty Devonshire village on the River Dart, in Torbay, set betwixt the seaside resorts of Paignton and Brixham, the enchanting surrounding countryside will ensure walkers remain outside, or perhaps Galmpton Warborough will reverse time as history covers every inch, from Saxon times, to the Spanish Armada where a thousand men stood watch. Budding authors can follow in the footsteps of Agatha Christie whose 1950's holiday home Greenway House has treasures waiting to be discovered with many first editions, a walk in the beautiful grounds leads to the Dart Valley Trail, and Galmpton Village Trail, arrive by boat at Greenway Quay and write your own chapter of adventure. Smaller visitors have thousands of reasons to visit Paignton Zoo, or possibly the thought of travelling along in a fabulous steam train will tempt a visit to Paignton and Devon Steam Railway. For lovers of history there's the Medieval masterpiece of Compton Castle with it's battlements and towers, or maybe Cockington Court will be first choice with a chance to explore the ancient Manor House, walk around the bewitching thatched village, stroll around lakes, take a look at the blacksmith hard at work in the Forge or climb aboard a fabulous horse and cart ride..
