Prestwick Airport is thirty two miles from Glasgow City, and is linked by Bus, and Trains that arrive direct to the Airport and connect to the Terminal Building via a covered Walkway. For Passengers wishing to drive, journey along the M77, or M8 if travelling from the West. On arrival there is a choice of either Long or Short Stay Car Parking, and for Disabled Passengers there are dedicated Parking Spaces, or there is always the stress free option of Valet Parking. The Airport has an interesting history from itís opening in 1934, the hundreds of aircraft who used the Airport during WW11, to Elvis Presley who landed here briefly when his plane stopped off to re-fuel. The Terminal Building has Check In Desks on the ground floor where Trolleys and Porters are widely available. There is a Bureau De Change where passengers may exchange currency, and ATMís that accept major Debit and Credit Cards. Internet Kiosks are located on the first floor, as are the Departure Lounges, WIFI is also available ensuring passengers can keep in touch, the Cafes, Restaurants and Bars have a varied selection on offer ensuring most tastes are catered for, and most have a childrenís menu and high chairs available. For the all important nappy change there are Baby Change Facilities to hand. For smaller Flyers a quick visit to the Information Desk will be rewarded with a colouring pack and crayons, or for older children and adults there is always the challenge of Gamesgrid that has video games and machines to keep fidgety fingers busy. There are free use of wheelchairs for passengers who require them, the shops will supply that last minute forgotten item, and the Tax and Duty Free Shopping is sure to tempt with fine Malt Whisky, Spirits, Perfumes and Gifts.
