Lovely inviting pub but we thought it incredibly overpriced. We chose a mediterranean 'platter' for starter which was £13.95 for two; 4 stuffed tiny peppers, 4 strips of sun-dried tomatoes, 2 vine leaves, the tiniest pot of nuts and a small ramekin of houmous. Tiny loaf of bread and thumbnail of dipping oil. Not worth the money at all. My pork medallions were lovely but, again, small portion of mash which was fine but nothing special. Partner had the rack of lamb; meat good, but ceps overpowering and dauphinois pots all potatoes, no cream or garlic. Still hungry so we had to have a pudding too. The most off-putting thing was the dog sniffing around the food, literally putting snout onto partner's lap. Made worse by person (a local I think) feeding the dog. We had wanted to go to the Vine Tree for ages and were, unfortunately, very disappointed. Won't be recommending to anyone I'm afraid. There are a huge number of very good, similar, pubs in the area and so won't be going back. The wine was good tho!

WE popped in for lunch having followed the brown signs from junction 17 on the m4 north...what a delightful place too encounter. We were greeted by mine hosts tiggy and charles with a warm welcome, offerd menus, told about specials etc admired the award winning best wine pub of the year trophies and sat down for a fantastic sunday lunch consisting of a platter of cooked meats for starters and then the most magnificent roast beef with all the trimmings followed by a cracking eton mess for deserts...all in all excellent value, wine selection was enormous i can see why they have won awards and not too expensive on the pocket too..we will be back before you know it...well done a great little find.

Myself and my partner visited the Vine Tree for my partner's birthday treat...and what a treat it was. the location is lovely and the inside of the inn is beautiful. Lovely old beams everywhere and so much character. the food was reasonably priced and was gorgeous. We could not fault the food. We felt really cosy and relaxed whilst eating our meal and were very pleased with the bill at the end of it. They do vouchers for gifts which i am going to get for my parents as they would love it too. highly recommended!
