Ed Miliband

So now we have a middle class intellectual with almost no real world of work experience facing an upper class grandee with only slightly more (does PR count?). Ed Miliband is not truly a hero of any sort yet, beyond not being Ed Balls or Dianne Abbott. He will be if he can forge a credible opposition party from the slow motion car crash that lost the last election. He will be if he can put together a shadow cabinet of all the talents not all the factions. And no bad thing if (a big if) he returns a tinge of red back to our political palette that, like a child mixing blue, yellow, red and green has coalesced into a sickly beige.
