Built from granite from the local Dalbeattie quarry over 100 years ago, the history of Rosemount Guest House, along with the village, is with shipbuilding and sailing although it has served for many decades providing accommodation for visitors to Kippford. Aiming high to provide guests with a relaxed retreat away from the hustle and bustle of a busy life, Rosemount offers four guest bedrooms with double, twin or family occupancy. All rooms are furnished to a high standard with most enjoying views across the estuary. Our breakfasts are not only delicious, but are cooked healthily and using the freshest, local produce and fairtrade products to ensure a tasty treat to the start of your day. The west facing conservatory and verandah at the front of the house provides guests with one of the best locations in the village for relaxing and enjoying the unspoilt views. Complimentary refreshments are served in the conservatory and it is a great place to meet and chat to other guests, read a book or take in a glass of your own wine or a favourite tipple whilst watching the array of wildlife, including red squirrels, herons, oyster catchers and curlews feeding on the tidal shores of the estuary along with the many stunning sunsets which occur throughout the seasons. The area provides fantastic outdoor opportunities and with the influence of the Gulf Stream providing a milder climate to the region, outdoor activities can be enjoyed most of the year round. With coastal, hill and forest walks for all abilities commencing from our doorstep, sixteen golf courses within a 20 mile radius, world class mountain biking on the 7stanes tracks in the local forests and with Dumfries and Galloway being awarded a 'Dark Skies' status for astronomy along with an abundance of wonderful gardens, historic buildings & the nearby busy market town of Castle Douglas to visit, there is something here for everyone to enjoy.
