Whatever your age, interests or abilities, Hartsholme will have something to offer you. A children‚s play area, an orienteering course, guided walks and nature trails. Enjoy a coffee in the café, or learn more about the sites in our Visitor Centre. We are open all year round and are dog friendly. For those who find a day visit just isn‚t enough camping facilities are available from March to October in our English Tourism Council 3 star rated Touring Park. Swanholme Lakes Local Nature Reserve can be accessed through Hartsholme Country Park. It was formed from a series of flooded sand and gravel pits. After quarrying finished in the 1960s vegetation was able to colonise and this has resulted in a mosaic of different habitat types that are important both nationally and locally in terms of biodiversity, featuring in National and Local Biodiversity Action Plans (BAPS). You can help preserve these special places by registering as a volunteer.
