RSPB Blacktoft Sands nature reserve is one of the north-east England's best nature reserves. Nestled between the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire Wolds, it is set on the banks of the Humber Estuary.
Ideal for all ages and abilities, it's inter-tidal reedbed is the largest in England. In spring and summer, the air is filled with the songs of birds such as reed and sedge warblers, while chattering avocets feed their young and marsh harriers perform acrobatic sky dances. During autumn, migrating wading birds can be seen resting and feeding on the lagoons. Six hides enable you to get closer to the wildlife. Winter brings wonderful wildfowl and breathtaking birds of prey.
