The Barn is a traditional 17th century sandstone barn converted in 1989 to exceptional standard, retaining many original features and situated in the picturesque village of Gosforth yet secluded in a courtyard setting with ¾ acre of woodland garden and pond with resident ducks. The Gosforth Hall Hotel is next door with a bar, restaurant and beer garden, families are welcome. The village itself has a butchers, bakers, post office and 3 traditional country pubs all within walking distance. This un-commercialised area of the Western Fells and Lakes is relatively unknown and unspoilt, with breathtaking lake and mountain scenery including Scafell Pike, England highest mountain, Wastwater, England's deepest lake and St Olafs the smallest church. The children will love a ride on "The Laal Ratty", the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. Close by is the 13th century ancestral home and gardens of Muncaster Castle, the Roman Fort on Hardnott Pass and the stunning Cumbrian Coastline.
