Chris and George Brandon-Lodge invite you to stay at their farmhouse bed and breakfast in a glorious hilltop setting with majestic views of the Shropshire Hills. It is an ideal place to stay for anyone who loves the peace of the countryside and has some of the best views in Shropshire.

You can leave your car at the house and walk over the surrounding hills which are part of the designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. On clear nights the full impact of the stars in pollution free darkness is wonderful.

Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Ironbridge are all around 30 minutes away by car. We are ideally placed for visiting Acton Scott Historic Farm as seen on TV.

The unspoiled beauty of this part of the border country has a wealth of bird life including buzzards, red kites, woodpeckers and ravens - frequently seen performing their aerobatics above the farm - and a big variety of song-birds.

The Long Mynd is only a short distance away by car and there are several good pubs within easy reach for eating out.

Facilities:
Bed and full English breakfast with our own free range eggs in an interesting menu with plenty of options for vegetarians from £28 per person.
Breakfast includes fish options, among them proper kippers.

The rooms look out over the valley and all have TV and tea and coffee making facilities. There is a cosy guests' sitting room for relaxing as well as a summer house and if the weather is suitable the terrace is ideal for an evening drink to watch the sun set behind Caer Caradoc.

Free WIFI access available.

Our rooms are named after the birds which live around us.

Red Kite is our new stone-built cottage room. Luxury accommodation which includes a kitchen so that guests can cook and enjoy some of the wonderful produce Shropshire has to offer, king-size bed, 32in TV and a private terrace facing Caer Caradoc. This comfortable and spacious room is ideal for a longer 'get-away-from-it-all' stay and is also available for self-catering by the week with optional breakfast.

Chaffinch is our courtyard room, a double-bedded en suite room with a wonderful view of the valley.

We also have comfortable rooms in the house with private bathrooms.

Well-behaved, clean dogs are welcome and kennels are available if preferred. There is usually an empty field where the dogs can be let off the lead for a romp. There is a charge of £3 per night for dogs.

We also cater for guests with their own horses.
