Britain's Favourite Attraction
Not so long ago 'historic house' meant something vast. In some cases it still does, but thanks to our growing interest in how ordinary lives used to be lived, and especially our fascination with the backgrounds of famous people, many far smaller properties now open a window on those lost worlds. Britain has so much to offer in this regard: near palatial or semi-detached; in city centres or quiet corners of Wales and Scotland; from the medieval to the modern. Some need minutes to see while others can entertain and enlighten us for a full day and more. Which is your favourite?
