Caving in Staffordshire

Man, it is said, once lived in caves. Today, while we enjoy the luxury of warm and dry houses there are still many of us drawn to the murky depths below ground. Caving isn’t just about the exploration of caves, it is by nature a sport that can take you far away from the stresses of daily life and can be extremely personally rewarding. Caving involves a myriad of skills that include photography, diving, climbing and even painting and sketching! It is also a very sociable pastime as cavers tend to be a very tight knit group, always ready to help a friend or share an experience together. If you are new to caving then you must first seek out one of the many caving clubs to be found around Britain. Caving is by nature potentially dangerous, so it is essential that you do it properly equipped and with expert supervision and instruction. If you join a club you will soon find the support and even offers of equipment to get you started. There’s a whole new world waiting underground so why not look through the lists for a club near you and get underground and start exploring caves.
