YMCA Torbay Tigers is the youth wing of the Torbay Tigers basketball Club which was awarded Club Mark accreditation in 2007. We run coaching sessions for young people from the age of 7 years into adulthood, and currently have teams playing in the England Basketball National League RAF Under 15s South West, and RAF Under 16s South West Conference leagues. Our National League teams are based at Churston Ferrers Grammar School for training and matches. Initial coaching and development training takes place at the YMCA covering the younger groups. We take part in the Torbay Central Venue Legues at various age groups, this league has the aim of encouraging young people to take up basketball and identify prospective players to join the National League squads. The Torbay Tigers play their matches in the Exeter & District premier league where they are one of the most consistant sides in gaining the honours in the League and Cup. They train and play matches on Thursday evenings at Churston Ferrers Grammar School 8.00pm - 10.00pm Courses for prospective coaches, referees and table officials are promoted by the club. Most queries can be answered by Sue at the YMCA during normal working hours on Wednesdays and Fridays.
