Tythebarn House B&B is the perfect place to pause for M6 travellers, 5 minutes from Junction 36, in the quiet village of Holme. A comfortable stopover for business people and an excellent base for holiday makers to explore the Lakes, Dales, Arnside, Kent Estuary, the Cumbrian Coastal Path and Limestone Link

This charming B&B is a converted barn with pine beams, log burner and a cosy cottage feeling. With just one room and only two guests, you are sure to feel pampered. It is often said that "Vic and Diana welcome you as a guest, and you leave as a friend."

Your guest accommodation is all on the ground floor in a private area, almost like a mini apartment with bedroom, bathroom, hall area and even your own kitchen, equipped with a microwave, chiller and everything needed to prepare a simple meal or snack. With fresh milk, your own cafetiere and teapot, it all makes for a great start to the day. On a warm summer evening our courtyard garden is the perfect place to sit and relax. Alternatively, the local pub is only a short walk away. Guests comment on Diana's attention to detail - the welcoming cup of tea or coffee with home-made cake - and the comfort of your guest room, made-up to your requirements, including fluffy white bath robes.

Diana’s famous Stone-Baked Breakfast is a great start to each day. Local produce abounds along with home-baked bread, jams and cake. Bed without breakfast is an option, but you would be missing out on a treat!

Vic is at hand with suggestions for days out and an itinerary to avoid the crowds, the latest weather reports for hill top walkers and Lakes ramblers, or information for those who simply like a stroll along our local canal.

Diana, a finalist on TV’s Britain's Best Dish, also offers residential 'Tasting Cumbria' cooking weekends for two. Try your hand at bread making, or sample a ‘Taste of Cumbria’. Her passion for cooking and promoting local foods means that she is regularly seen at Orton Farmer's Market, local country fairs and fund-raising events, inspiring others with her enthusiasm, easy to follow recipes and tips for success in the kitchen.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
