This hotel stands in 3 acres of gardens and grounds overlooking the sea and the surrounding countryside. We would like to welcome you to our family run hotel, its an ideal base to explore, North Devon and Lundy Island The house was built in 1823 by an eminent local apothecary and surgeon and is typical of the late Regency Style.
Our hotel is a Grade Two listed building standing in 3 acres of gardens and grounds at the top of Larkstone Beach overlooking the sea.
At one point a small stream emerges from the hillside, fills a series of slate tanks and a small pond before making its way through the grounds.
The thatched summerhouse stands in the sunniest part of the garden and is in the form of an African Rondelle. This is a very pleasant spot to enjoy a drink and watch the sun go down behind the steep hills above the hotel.
It is comforting to know that the main house, the summerhouse and well house are all listed and therefore protected for the continued enjoyment of everyone now and in days to come.
