More Information

The Kingham Plough is a 4* Free House, located opposite the Village Green, in Kingham mid-way between the Cotswold Market Towns of Stow on the Wold, Moreton in Marsh and Chipping Norton. This privately owned property re-opened in 2006, following extensive refurbishment, to wide critical acclaim. The bedrooms offer the best in quality and comfort. They provide a simple, tasteful elegance that is reflected throughout The Kingham Plough. Digital plasma Televisions, Wi-Fi access, tea and coffee making facilities and homemade biscuits compliment these superb rooms. In the Restaurant the Chef/proprietor Emily Watkins changes the short menu daily to accommodate the abundant seasonal and local produce available to her. Daily deliveries from local farms, small holdings and game estates, as well as foraged fungi and sea vegetables all arrive to be transformed into fresh modern British dishes. These include rustic platefuls of warm pork belly and watercress salad, slow-cooked haunch of venison with port and chestnut sauce, spicy pears in mulled wine. Our wine list has been compiled from Great Britain and Europe to suit every taste. The bar, simply furnished, encourages you to relax with the papers whilst enjoying items from the ever changing bar snack menu and a Cotswold Lager. There are plenty of things to do whilst visiting us, located as we are in the midst of the rolling Cotswold Countryside. Whether you are here for a romantic break, relaxing treat or a cultural experience you will be able to find it all within 10 miles.
