A visit to Powderham Castle is an enchanting day out for all its visitors. Fascinating guided tours of this magnificent 600year old Castle - one of the oldest family houses in England and home to the 18th Earl of Devon - reveals secret doors, stunning castle rooms, amazing architecture and intriguing stories that really bring the history to life. Not forgetting the recently restored Victorian Kitchen where you can visualise what life would have been like in domestic service.

Outside visitors are welcome to explore extensive grounds full of natural rugged beauty and relax in the peaceful surroundings. The Castle is set in a fabulous Deer Park, on the edge of the Exe estuary, only a stone‚s throw from Exeter. Some visitors take the beautiful walk up to the Belvedere (available until 31 July) where they are justly rewarded with amazing far-reaching views and others may choose a closer look at the wonderful wildlife on the estate on a deer park safari (small extra charge).

In 2010 there will be some new attractions as well as the usual calendar of special events and themed weeks. These will include a Robin Hood week, Knights & Princesses week, Pirate weeks and meeting our very own Willy Wonka over the Easter holidays!
