In the heart of a traditional Weardale village set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, this charming 19th century beamed cottage, with its delightful enclosed courtyard, offers a cosy base from which to explore the North Pennines. Picturesque villages, tearooms and farm shops abound and walkers can enjoy many routes including the Weardale Way which runs through the Land of Prince Bishops. For the less energetic, a trip on the Weardale Railway provides a relaxing way of seeing the Dales (in season). Barnard Castle, Killhope Lead Mining Museum, Durham Cathedral, Beamish Open Air Museum and Hadrian's Wall are all easily accessible. Shop 50 yards, country pub serving good food 200 yards.
