The Welsh Highland Railway (Porthmadog) is a small, family-friendly heritage railway and interactive attraction. Each train ride includes a guided tour of the restoration shed, where you can climb on steam and diesel locomotives and find out how they work.

Fares for all-day tickets are only £5.50 (adult), £3.00 (child), £4.50 (senior) and £15.00 (family or group, 2+2). Our railway book and souvenir shop is one of the best in the UK and our atmospheric period café serves home-cooked food, specializing in children's meals and special diets.

Step back into the unhurried world of an early twentieth century narrow gauge railway, and enjoy the authentic experience in coaches often over 100 years old in trains hauled by vintage diesel or coal-fired steam locomotives. Special events some for children, and some for everyone occur throughout the year. The Traeth Mawr Extension is planned to open during 2007
