Several British cities now have a Ha! Ha! and this York branch has a typically good central location that suits the lively, cosmopolitan atmosphere well. The look is light, airy and welcoming - pine floors, brown leather sofas in front of large windows, a lengthy bar and open kitchen. In-keeping with the brand's open-all-hours spirit, the menu offers everything from brunch (served until 4pm), sandwiches, nibbles, salads and nachos for sharing to three-course dinners. Everything is made from scratch on the premises, and tastes it, particularly the irresistible house burger. Tending to get busy at weekends and in the evenings, Ha! Ha! is a safe bet for a lively drink among a mixed-bag crowd of students young professionals.
