The centre was built as a joint project between the local Council and the Education Authority and first opened in 1975. Now significantly extended and enhanced, facilities include a 25 metre swimming pool and learner pool, a four court sports hall, an aerobics studio, The Mill Health & Fitness Studio, a snooker room, five squash courts, a large café and viewing area and a licensed bar.
