The new landlords of The Gallipot Inn, Stuart and Gemma Lawson, reopen the pub on 24 January 2007, and invite you to join them on Saturday 27 January for special opening drinks.

You can find us in the delightful village of Hartfield, East Sussex in the heart of Pooh Country, the setting for many of A.A. Milne‚s famous stories. The Gallipot will have a new menu, ranging from the classic honey roast ham and mustard sandwich, a whale of a fish with chips and peas (evening menu) to the traditional Sunday roast or Lamb shank in mint gravy!

The Gallipot first opened its‚ doors for business back in 1597, when Queen Elizabeth was still on the throne and William Shakespeare‚s renowned Romeo and Juliet was first printed. The building was originally three Tudor cottages, combined to make one beautiful, classic dwelling. The Inn derives it‚s name from the small, glazed earthenware pots, used for medicines and ointments, that were produced in one of the three cottages.
