Thirteenth century listed Coaching Inn visited over the centuries by Samuel Pepys, Charles Dickens, WWII ace Douglas Bader and the Queen of Norway in 1937.

Restaurant being converted to 7 day carvery November 2010. Meat and produce locally sourced and of excellent quality, food is kept fresh through the strictest of standards and good practises.

A small selection of freshly prepared bar food will also be available alongside cask ales (Woodfordes Wherry/London Pride & Spitfire currently being served), a decent wine list and a good selection of premium softs and spirits.
