Le Mont occupies the fifth and sixth floors of the Urbis building, a stunning £30m architectural feat of glass and steel commissioned as part of the Manchester Commonwealth Games developments. Guaranteed panoramic views of Exchange Square that you won't get elsewhere. Robert Kisby's impressive modern French menu does a fine job in drawing your attention to the matter in hand: eating. The award-winning Kisby typically cooks with seasonal, superior quality ingredients from northern farmers. So Lune Valley venison features alongside pure Galloway beef cattle, partly reared for Le Mont, and heather-fed lamb from the Trough of Bowland. It might sound a bit much, but such detail matters, particularly to the palette. Fine choice for special occasions, especially at night.
