The Museum of Lead Mining can be found in Wanlockhead, Scotland's highest village. The museum will let you explore Scotland's industrial past with guided tours of the Lead Mine, the Period Cottages and the second oldest workers library in Europe.

The Visitor Centre tells the story of how lead was mined and of other minerals such as gold, which have also been found and mined in the Lowther Hills.

Alternatively you can relax in our tearoom and enjoy traditional home baking or browse in our gift shop.
